What about the blog name “Bring on the night…..mare”?
‘Bring on the Night’ is the name of a live double CD by Sting who I listen to a lot. I had to come up with something, and just picked this one down the CD shelf. It stuck (or I was to lazy to find a better, you decide). Eventually I changed the name to ‘Bring on the Night….mare’ since this seems more fitting.

Why this blog?
I use the blog as a dairy to keep track of my life and thoughts. I will keep it going for at least for as long as I have the energy.

The blog has turned from pure China related stuff to a story of how life is with my wife coming here from China. Also I want to comment on things that interest (and annoy) me. It’s an excellent vent to let off steam.

Whats my interest in China?
In early november 2004 I started writing letters with a Chinese girl. This resulted in a trip to meet her for the first time. At the same time this was my first time in China. Actually first time outside Europe. I would like to share my view on what I experienced in China, and the time after trying to make a long-distance relationship, short distance. This is what the first posts I made on this site is all about. We are now married and live in Denmark.

China is very different from European countries in many ways and yet not. In the initial entries about my time in China, I have tried to pick some of the more funny situations I experienced.

Update: The summer 2007, went back to China on holiday. This time it wasn’t for Shenzhen, but the North of China. We went to a small city called Yilan close to Harbin and visited my family-in-laws. Check this link to get a detailed day-by-day log.
