All signs points to vacation

This Monday, my last 1 week vacation started. C and I just spent 3 days in Copenhagen.
We did some sightseeing while we tried to overstay our welcome with Kojak’s at his brand new apartment. Somehow we didn’t manage and we had a great trip.
Arrived Sunday evening and relaxed a bit to accumulate strength for the next days marathon sightseeing/shopping spree.
Monday we started by making a stop at the Experimentarium. Then off to the Fields Mall where Kojak and yours truly was dragged around for several hours by C, who disappointingly enough didn’t find anything worth buying in what seemed like millions of shops. Not sure she found the effort worthless though.
Tuesday we had a pleasant drive on Route 66 Strandvejen where all the most expensive and coolest houses are in Copenhagen. Then further north to Helsingor, where we saw Kronborg Castle (yup – the one with hamlet). I was a bit disappointed, but hey – then I can cross that one of my to-see-list.
After the tour-de-castle we found ourselves a bit peckish so we headed down-town to find a restaurant and ended up in a cafe style one called Chaplin. Considering that we had no clue where to search for a good spot, we struck lucky. The food was reasonable priced and exceptionally good.
All food was prepared from the bottom. Home made butter, homemade bread and so forth. I ordered a cold pasta and lamb dish, while C got some fish tapas. Kojak wanted a Greece inspired burger and got more than he had asked for. The hugest burger I have ever seen. Not known for his lack of will, he digged in, but had to give up less than half way through. The whole situation left his confidence shattered, so as a real sportsman, he wowed to return another time. This time armed with more experience and diligence. Mount Burger needs to be climbed properly to regain his eating spirit.
We also checked out some shops, and C finally found a shirt she would pay for. Needless to say that she got a discount after finding a less successful threading tugged away so it was invisible.
Last day we took a bus to Stroget (a long street with no traffic and plenty of busses). Again some massive shopping (is it called shopping when you don’t buy much?). C got 3 books, while I found an authentic Chinese propaganda poster. Will put pictures of it in a later entry.
At last we made a stop a some Asian shops to collect some goods C needed. I dodged a close one when C wanted me to carry 20kg jasmine rice to the bus stop. Fortunately she decided it was too heavy when she tried lifting it herself. Well, that mixed with my face expression when I read “20kg”.
Cool trip, and now we are back home.
