Bad back back

Somehow I managed to f### up my bag again.
It’s a bleedin’ pain to get up and down from chairs these days. Getting a good nights sleep is next to impossible. Sitting in the same way for too long is hellish too, so what to do?
A chiropractor would be cool, but the bill wouldn’t. So I have decided to ride the pain off in it’s own pace like I did the last time. It will be some tough weeks before it goes away if it’s the same deal. At least this time it is not as bad as before.
The positive side to the pain, is that I finally have discovered what caused it. It’s a mix of 2 things. The good old “have-no-room-in-the-bed” (series I & II), and my sucky office chair.
See, I bought a cool office chair about 4 years ago. It really owned. You sat comfortable in it and it was stable in all regards.
Well, not anymore. The brake for keeping the chair in your desired position is worn out. No repair possible. This means constant adjusting and constant falling back to the most extreme positions when you lean too hard or skirt your ass around. At times it will be such a surprise (being in your own thoughts or concentration on a computer game), that you get an enormous jerk in your back. At first you just get surprised, but the next morning, you will feel the real result.
So the chair killed my back, and my lacking bed space keeps the pain stretched out over a longer period. I can’t turn at night without immense pain, and I have little space to work with as the night passes. Nice to hug the misses and all, but she sucks up all the space. Maybe I should try the good old Hug & Roll trick?
I could also buy a new chair and ditch the wife? Guess it will be a new chair only. I will have to wait though. There are a few things higher on the “missing-list” in our household such as bed/madras that is not split down the middle and perhaps a bigger sofa.
Why now, when Half Life 2 Episode 2 is on the street? Why?
A sigh and an auch here from Aalborg.
Peter – don’t be a cheap – go get those chiroprotor hours you need. I actually think you can get an referral through your doctor and that way make the government sponsor part of it. And stop using that office chair. Get another one or use one of your dinning room chairs or use a footstool (I do that / limits the time I use in front of the PC).
And for the “have no room in the bed” problem – I know it all too well. The first few years I was low on space too – actually enden up on the floor in the middle of the night 2 or 3 times. But I slowly fought back – centimeter by centimeter and in the end I got my half of the bed back – actually I even got more (I enden up with 2/3). Then my daughter moved into our bed and I’m left with 1/3 again, but again here I have slowly been fighting back and I now holds approx. 2/5 of the bed. So my advice – fight back – but do it slowly – every week conquer 1 or 2 centimer and keep them – it worked for me and it improved my night sleep considerable.
And remember – you’re a man – we’re supposed to go to war once and in a while – make the re-conqering of your bedspace you little private “war”.
The state will skip in, but still I’m looking at a bill at 500Kr for the X-rays only. Then 100kr pr. treatment. All in all, my guess is at least 500kr for the whole deal after all..
I will go if it doesn’t get better this monday, but I’d rather not spend the doe. We have enough stuff we need to yuse money for these days :-)
Right now it feels like my back has improved. Funny thing this. I can walk and ride my bicycle allright. Just as long as I don’t try to turn in my bed or get into or out of a chair.
Btw. I ditched the chair and started using an older but more stable and hard one. :-)
I’m fighting for my bedspace, but my wife is not that easy to change. I’m so whipped :-(
I can almost hear the sound of the whipping all the way to China. But be strong, be a man and fight for your bed!
I’m fighting but to no alas. I fight for the good, but evil is too strong! :-)
