One accident seldom comes alone – Part 2
Sep 6th, 2007 by Peter
Or maybe it should have been: Two accidents seldom come alone.
Just to follow-up on my previous post I can mention that god struck again and killed my bicycle.
The rear wheel is slanted and make funny noises when I use the bike. The local bicycle repair shop told me a repair would cost me an amount about 700kr (130US$). An offer that seems unreasonable stupid to accept, since I bought the bike for 1300kr (200US$) from new. A cheap bike from the beginning, but still it has taken its bashing over the years. Not sure exactly how old it is, but 4-5 years would be a good guess.
So seems I have to squeeze the lemon further and trash my credit card again. Now the question is whether I should go for a cheap bike again, or a middle priced one of better quality?
Sigh – what to do.
Maybe you should by a car ….
First I have to sell a kidney to get the money.
It depends how much you use it. If you use it everyday or many times a week, I’d say buying a mid-range bike would be a better investment.
Or, sell a kidney and buy a car. ;)
Problem solved. Bought my dads 8 year old bike real cheap. It may be 8 years old, but looks like a new. Haven’t been used that much since he got it :-)
