A bloody nice WP plugin

Do you have problems living with the oversensitive GFW of China like I do?
You should note that you still need to think when you use it, as you have to replace words of concern with [*word*] to make it work. There may be a more automated solution to the next version, but Ryan is not completely sure he can do it yet. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Meanwhile I can just sit back and accept that I for some reason am blocked in China. Almost pulled out all my hair in an effort to figure it out. Still no luck.
Hey man,
Great plugin. I’d be interested in knowing what plugin you use for the post info at the end of each post, though.
The one which says how many words/images are in a post, etc. :)
Hi Phil…
Welcome back to the west :-)
Never found your blog that you planned to do in China. Did you ever get around to do it?
This is the plugin:

Cool and pretty configurable.
I’ll add your url to my blogroll again.
Cheers!
Hey, I really think the reason why you are blocked in China is because you offer a translation of your site into Chinese. I doubt it has anything to do with the content in English on your site. The censors don’t care about English. Case in point–the Peking Duck is still unblocked, with all its rabidly anti-CCP diatribes. So take down the translation, and maybe you’ll be unblocked.
Also, I nabbed pretty much all of the plugins you suggest on your site and am using them on my new one. Thanks for the suggestions. I do rather like the “Post Teaser.”
Hi kmm,
Suggestion noted. I actually had the same thoughts myself, and I’ll try to remove the translations and see if that works. Tnx for the indput and good luck with the plugins and your cool new site.
If anyone reads this from China without a proxy, please let me know. I removed the translation buttons and cross my fingers :-)
Still blocked. I think it might take some time. Not sure exactly how this stuff works, but I can only imagine it was some kind of an automated scan. I doubt an employee of the CCP came to your blog–which is based out of Denmark and, for the most part, quite apolitical–and then individually decided to block it.
Tnx man. I appreciate the help. Will keep the google stuff away from my header and wait and see. As you say it may take some time. If a GFW employee googled my site and blocked it, he must have been bored.
Am reading this from China unblocked.
May be related to translation, if you’ve got some kind of Typepad link (like serving the data from a Typepad blog but with your own domain name) it may be because Typepad was unblocked today.
Tnx a lot for the info Alex. I’ll cross my fingers for it to be permanent and not just a temporary “glitch” in the great FW.
My blog runs on a stand-alone WordPress installation and the domain is hosted directly on my provider (www.one.com), so there shouldn’t be any link to Typepad or other blogging host sites being unblocked.
I have seen a temporary unblock earlier, but maybe this time I’m lucky :-)
