   I’ve never studied Danish, and I didn’t use Babel Fish or Google Translator, just going on English and common sense. How’d I do?

   Just doing this as an interesting comparison of trying to read something in a European language I have no knowledge of compared to when I see a character in Chinese that I’ve never studied before.

   You not that far off. Actually the DIRECT English translation (no idiomatic rearranging) was like this:

   Is you are Danish or understand Danish, then help just and fill out this questionnaire.

   Pretty well done by a foreigner with no knowledge to the language :-)

   Actually Danish is not that far from English regarding the timing of words in sentences. Also we have stolen a whole lot of words from English (like Weekend, Cool and so on). Since we never synchronize voices in movies and has loads of English/American spoken movies and series here, this influenced our language as well. Also I bet it is no downside that we invaded and settled in England a lot back in our Viking days. I guess a few words must have been made common along the way. :-)
