Welcome to Denmark

My wife started school in august, and everything is going as planned. Good school and great teachers. She even decided to pick up a few extra books with voice tapes for learning the correct pronunciation besides the normal homework.
I decided to listen in on 2 of the books and to my horror found them completely depressing. Is this what you want to teach new Danes?
The books (translated):
Title: “You have to help Tea”
About: A mentally ill woman whose boyfriend left her because she is too quiet (read: crazy). She sits in a park, and falls in love with a young mothers baby. She forgets to take her medicine, starts hearing voices and steals the baby the next day. Well, that’s Denmark for you! Baby-stealers!
Title: “Alone”
About: A nervous housewife who finds out her husband cheats on her with a younger woman. Just what a newcomer who have to depend on his/her spouse needs. Denmark: cheat country of the west.
Now I am just wondering what the last 2 books are about.
Title: “I forgot the time”
My guess: Could be about the evil Danish husband who forgot to renew his wife’s visa?
Title: “Karen loves caramels”
My guess: A perfect guide on how to lure children with candy here in Denmark?
Welcome to Denmark.
Update: C just received the book they need to learn for the first examination. The plot is about a woman alone at home who has a ill baby with high fever. She calls the ambulance, but the baby gets a cramp and turns bluish. The mother faints since she believes the baby is dead, only to wake up and find the baby alive in the arms of a doctor. The doctor takes both to the hospital for observation and medicine.
At least this one has a happy ending… sorta.
Grotesque….tells more about the “political correct” generation that wrote it…..but of course we could be wrong, and danes are terrible people? :)

Darkly hilarious. Especially when I initially misread Karen Loves Caramels as “Karen Loves Criminals.”
Justin: No no, you must be thinking of the sequel to “Karen loves caramels”. The much awaited follow-up, where Karen nearing adulthood try to find a spot in life and falls in love with the “crown-prince” in the Danish mafia.
Ohh, btw.: “Karen loves caramels” was actually about a girl who steals caramels from the local shop. Never a dull moment here in crime country nr. one.
